After graduating with a doctorate in economics, she initially worked as a venture capital manager, since when her professional focus has been on the mobility and logistics industry.

After starting out in investment management at Deutsche Lufthansa AG, she moved to the Kaufhof Group as Head of Controlling for the travel agency chains.
From 1995, Martina Niemann then held various management positions at Deutsche Bahn AG.

At the beginning of 2012, she joined the airline Air Berlin as Head of Human Resources and took over Human Resources Management for Lufthansa Airlines within the Lufthansa Group in 2018.

Martina Niemann has been Chief Financial Officer/Controlling Officer of DB Cargo AG since 01.07.2020.
