Member of the Management Board for Combined Transport

Ralf Günter Kloß

Ralf Kloß has been working in management functions at DB Cargo for around 25 years and was most recently Board Member for Production and Production Germany. As part of the organizational transformation, he took over the responsibilities of the Board Member for Combined Transport in January 2025. The function of Board Member for Production has been eliminated at DB Cargo, as a divisional structure has now been chosen.

With this function, Ralf Kloß is returning to his old areas of responsibility. He was already active in combined transport earlier in his career, whether as Head of Resource Management in the former CT business unit or as Managing Director of the companies TFG and DB IS. In recent years, he has also been active in various supervisory bodies in combined transport, including as a member of the Board of Directors at Kombiverkehr, shareholder representative at Lokomotion GmbH and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Mitteldeutsche Eisenbahngesellschaft.

Combined transport is one of the key growth markets in Europe, so one of his main tasks will be to help guide the growth of this market and exploit it for DB Cargo after a suitable consolidation phase to secure earnings.

Ralf Kloss is also the Management Board member responsible for the transformation. He is responsible for program-oriented transformation management, which will steer the success of the measures over the next two years, in order to ensure that all necessary transformation measures are implemented until the targets are achieved and sustainability is secured. Transformation management, which is assigned to his department, consists of a PMO, which supports the specialist departments in achieving their set goals and implementing the agreed measures, a team to ensure the success of the measures in the presentation of economic results and a change and communication team, which ensures the change process for the workforce with change measures and internal communication measures as well as training.
