Single freight car transport across Europe

Article:  Heavy load transportation made easy

Rotors play a central role in power generation using generators. They are the centerpiece that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy - for example in wind or hydroelectric power plants. Transporting such a rotor requires efficient logistics. A good example of this is the transport of a 73-ton rotor, which is currently on its way to Switzerland with DB Cargo.

Advantages of rail

With axle loads of up to 22.5 tons, rail transport is much more efficient and flexible than truck transport. On the road, permits are required for loads of 30 to 35 tons or more, which entail costs and effort. For DB Cargo, such heavy load transports are no problem, even at short notice without lengthy planning. Our single freight wagon transport system covers almost all of Europe, including major ports and industrial plants. Railports and transhipment terminals further expand our options.

Customer-oriented solutions

Our team processes inquiries and supports logistics projects throughout Europe, regardless of whether they involve heavy goods and/or large volume transportation. Together with our customers, we look for the best logistical solution in which transhipment and pre- and on-carriage can also be organized.
