Here at DB Cargo, we love to lend a helping hand whenever we can. That is why we are once again supporting the Channel Aid charity concert in Hamburg this year. Together with our subsidiary DB Cargo FLS, we are transporting the concert equipment by environmentally friendly rail to make the good cause even more worthwhile.
Top-class music and entertainment
The event on 12 January has a lot to offer in its own right. British singer and X Factor winner James Arthur will give a charity concert accompanied by an orchestra at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg – a wonderful voice in an incredible acoustic setting. The event will also feature support acts, an after-show party and everything that goes with it.
James Arthur is the perfect counter-evidence to the assumption that talent shows only produce flashes in the pan.
The social projects
"Channel Aid - live in Concert" is a charity concert series that raises money for children, young people and people with disabilities. The social projects benefiting from the proceeds this year are:
- Right to Play, an international children's aid organisation that uses play and sport to encourage child development and helps them take their future into their own hands.
- Laureus Sport for Good, a foundation that uses sport to give children new opportunities and counter social disadvantages.
- Chance to Dance is a project of the FABS Foundation, an organisation for children, young people and adults with disabilities, and the Hamburg dance school Mein Tanzstudio. It offers dance courses for people with disabilities and emphasises the importance of responding to their individual needs and integrating them into society.
