Fleet expansion at DB Cargo FLS

200 new FLS trailers for DB Cargo Full Load Solutions.

The first of 200 new, own standard trailers with CodeXL tarpaulins in the DB Cargo Full Load Solutions design have gradually been delivered since the beginning of January. By expanding our own trailer pool, we can offer our customers sustainable solutions in intermodal transport and focus on the trade lanes. You can find an overview of the trade lanes here.

The aim of expanding the intermodal portfolio between countries is to shift goods from road to rail. And should the storage capacity on the train be exhausted, customers can be provided with a flexible door-to-door solution based on road transportation. In this way, road and rail are combined intelligently and sensibly. The advantages of trade lanes are obvious: environmentally friendly transportation by rail over long distances without having to reload the goods.

"Our intermodal trailers are an investment in a green future - even for our customers without a siding. This is how we combine rail with the flexibility of trucks," says Birte Dehne, COO DB Cargo Full Load Solutions.

Customers in the electrical, building materials, consumer goods, paper and food industries are increasingly requesting our intermodal transport services.  Italian pasta will soon also be making its way intermodally from Italy to Germany and Sweden.

Information on our intermodal transports can be found at DB Cargo FLS.
